RCCbc recognises the collective effort across Canada to advance the principles embedded in the former Bill C-72, the Connected Care for Canadians Act. Secure, person-centred portability of health information is vital to achieving equitable healthcare. Rural, remote, and Indigenous communities are disproportionately affected when health data are lost or cannot move between systems, leading to delayed care, repeated tests, and added travel and stress for patients and providers.
